Abstract
The purpose of this study has been to investigate flooding problems in areas of Baytown, Texas, adjoining Burnett, Crystal and Scott Bays, with particular references to past and future effects of general land subsidence on the severity of flooding, and to determine the feasibility of a plan for mitigating the flooding, and to determine the feasibility of the long-term problem has necessitated detailed studies of land subsidence in the Houston metropolitan area, of which Baytown is a part, projections of the future extent of such subsidence, and identification of possible measures which might be taken to halt the process.
