Abstract
Studies reported are concerned with the influence of water- soluble fractions (WSF) of a refined (No. 2 Fuel oil) and a crude oil (South Louisiana) on the development rate, heartbeat rate, and hatching success of embryos from three species of estuarine fish. The specific hydrocarbons present in the water extracts have been well characterized and analyses of water and tissues were conducted during the study.
