This report discusses the efforts of The Society of the Plastics Industry, Incorporated (SPI) to reduce the amount of plastics being discarded into the ocean. With exception of resin pellets, the plastics industry cannot prevent individual acts of pollution by the public. This report discusses how the CMC and NOAA are attempting to educate the public. It further discusses how the plastics industry is addressing the problem with the transportation of resin pellets.en_US
