dc.description.abstract | Investigations of algal mats at 10 locations along the northwestern coast of the Gulf of Mexico from Grand Terre Island, Louisiana, west to Redfish Bay, Texas, were conducted from February 1975 to July 1976. Data on distribution, habitat preference and morphology are reported for 7 species of Vaucheria. Four taxa: V. compacta, V. dilwynni, V. erythrospora, and V. thuretti, the most abundant taxon identified in this study, is recorded from the Texas coast for the first time. V. litorea and V. prolifera are reported from Lousiana. | en_US |
