dc.description.abstractEnergy production in the Gulf of Mexico off Texas is yielding a bonus to saltwater recreational fishermen and scuba divers. Production platforms built when oil or gas is discovered concentrate many desirable game fish, resulting in increased angler success. These platforms also form a structure where artificial reef communities are established, increasing biological productivity and providing scenic diving areas.en_US
