Abstract
A survey and analysis of available information on shipping and barging practices in the Galveston Bay System, covering intensity and pattern of shipping and barging traffic; docking and anchoring practices; ship cleaning services; and ballasting, cargo handling, wharfage and warehousing practices. A survey and analysis of waste discharges and waste disposal practices and services as related to the activities names in Paragraph 1 above. A critical analysis of the possible solutions to the problems as determined by Paragraphs 1 and 2 above including collection systems with onshore treatment, barge collection with discharge to a treatment facility, and such others as may be appropriate.
