This briefing paper is a discussion of the industrial facility siting process. It represents only a portion of the overall industrial facility siting (IFS) study which consists of the following components: 1. A summary of projected coastal industrial facilities; 2. Case studies of the siting of Corpus Christi Petrochemical Company and South Texas Nuclear Project; 3. An analysis of siting decisions from the perspective of industry. 4. A detailed discussion of the permitting process and the relevant statutes and regulations affecting facility siting; and 5. Eight environmental attribute maps with accompanying narratives.
