dc.description.abstractThe report covers the history of the hurricane, post hurricane collection of data, and evaluation of damages. The history of the hurricane includes its origin and path through the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and south Texas area. Also included in this section are meteorologic and hydrological features such as barometric pressure, wind velocities, tides, rainfall, stream flow, and tornadoes. The post hurricane collection of data section describes the hydrological damage surveys conducted. The section on evaluation of damages includes a description of the affected area and the type and estimate of damages incurred. The area covered by this report extends along the Gulf coast from Galveston, Texas, to the border between Mexico and the United States and 100 to 150 miles inland.en_US
