dc.description.abstractThis conference on pollution of the navigable waters of Galveston Bay and its tributaries is the sixth to held under shellfish provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. The conference covers the effects on interstate commerce caused by pollution of the shellfish beds in Galveston Bay. The purpose of the conference is to bring together the State water pollution control agency, representatives of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and other interested parties to review the existing situation and the progress which has been made, to lay a basis for future action by all parties concerned, and to give the State, localities, and industries an opportunity to take any indicated remedial action under State and local law. The conference data includes statements and discussions on: Waste disposal; industrial wastes; offshore drilling; water quality; recommendations; and channel water data.en_US
