dc.description.abstractThe greater shearwater was found near the south jetty of Galveston Beach, Galveston County, Texas. The specimen has been deposited at Texas A&M University. Its presence in Texas was unexplained as there were no storms in the area at that time, and the species is known only from along the Atlantic coast from eastern Florida northward.en_US
