dc.description.abstract | The proposed Houston Ship Channel (HSC) Modernization Project and the Recommended Beneficial Use Disposal Plan (the BUG Plan) for the bay reach of the HSC will entail the removal and disposal of approximately 67,232,000 cubic meters (m3) of dredged material over the 50-year life of the project. Approximately 1,720 hectares (ha) of marsh habitat is proposed to be created from the dredged material. To evaluate the technical feasibility of the plan, the Beneficial Uses Group (the BUG) recommended that a large-scale demonstration project be constructed using materials, equipment and techniques that would replicate those that are envisioned for the BUG Plan | en_US |
