Discarding of shrimp and associated organisms in the Texas brown shrimp (Penaeus aztecus Ives) grounds

From June 1973 through June 1975, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department took 89 samples with the commercial shrimping fleet in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico to provide more information on the discarding of shrimp and associated organisms in the Texas brown shrimp (Penaeus aztecus) fishery. Percentages of utilized and discarded catches are discussed as are comparison rates of catches for various types of trawls used.
