dc.description.abstractThe spring population census utilizing two airplanes and one helicopter was initiated March 1, 1973 and terminated April 5, 1973. The total Attwater's prairie chicken population was estimated to be 1,772 birds-up 7.4 percent from 1972. Austin, Colorado, Galveston, Goliad, and Victoria counties contained the bulk of the prairie chickens counted.en_US
