Relative numbers of shallow water fishes of the northern Gulf of Mexico, with some records of rare fishes from the Texas coast.

Relative abundance of various shallow water marine fishes along the coasts of Texas and Louisiana is discussed, with an emphasis upon species that are either extremely abundant or extremely rare. Several references are made to the Galveston Bay system.
