Eighty-eight samples of coastal sand collected from Padre, Mustang and Galveston Islands have been surveyed for the presence of algae by the technique of enrichment culture. Representatives of 64 genera of algae, and a number of others, as yet unidentified, were recorded from these collections. A list of these organisms, identified to the generic level, is presented; together with a discussion of their relative frequency of occurrence.en_US
