Suntide Refinery has a waste that is very toxic to marine aquatic organisms and could be detrimental to the marine environment. However, under existing conditions of oil extraction from the effluent, disposal of spent caustics to other industries, and available dilution water to reduce the toxic components present to a non-toxic state, Corpus Christi Harbor is not affected by waste disposal from Suntide Refinery.
