dc.description.abstractThis paper describes 15 species of sea anemones, 5 of them new, collected from shore and shallow water habitats in Texas and Louisiana. Individual species accounts provide detailed descriptions based upon external morphology, color, prepared sections and nematocysts. Additional information includes synonymies, distributional data and other pertinent remarks. A key for the identification of all 15 species is provided but is not suitable for field use, requiring the examination of prepared sections and nematocysts.en_US
