dc.description.abstractResidential non-point source pollution has been recognized as a major pollutant source to Galveston Bay. To address the issue of residential non-point source pollution, the Galveston County Extension Office developed the award-winning Galveston Bay Yards & Neighbors Program. This program educates homeowners on appropriate home and lawn care practices to reduce excess use of potential pollutants which may eventually end up in Galveston Bay. The Galveston Bay watershed extends up the Trinity River north to the Dallas/Fort Worth area with the Trinity River providing 54 percent of the freshwater inflow to Galveston Bay.en_US
