dc.description.abstractSeveral local monitoring agencies are working with the Houston-Galveston Area Council to create a database of habitat quality to be used with local water quality monitoring data. The project database will consist of photographs of each of over 350 monitoring stations in winter and summer along with information on such items as riparian vegetation, instream habitat, and local land use. The data collected will be used with water quality data to create more comprehensive data assessments and further a better understanding of the region's watersheds. The information will also be used as a public outreach tool to make residents aware of what each water quality monitoring station looks like and to illustrate how water quality responds to various types of habitat and land use.en_US
