dc.description.abstractThe Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) regulates wastewater discharge through the use of permits. Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), and ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) are the three major constituents regulated. The Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) and the TNRCC have combined efforts to regulate the Clear Lake watershed. By using domestic waste load estimates and projections, water quality management should be improved.en_US
