A major widening of a docking slip on the Houston Ship Channel was conducted by Shell Oil Company in Deer Park, Texas during 1978 through 1980. The work included removal of an existing soil dike and wooden bulkhead, construction of a new soil dike with riprap protection, dredging, and installation of pile supported mooring dolphins. The objective of the project was to widen the docking slip by about 400 feet. Stability analyses of the dike configuration was performed utilizing the STABL compute codeen_US
