Populations of Juvenile Shrimp in the Matagorda Bay Complex - Study of Juvenile Shrimp Populations

Abstract

The first signs of 1962 year-class brown shrimp were found in mid-April. This group was followed by a second wave in July and a third in August. A few whites were taken in June, however, the first major wave occurred in July. This was followed by a second wave in October. Trawl data indicates a sharp population drop (for both species) beginning in August.
