The tortoise beetle, Hemisphaerota cyanea (Say), is reported on the palm, Washingtonia robusta, collected on Galveston Island, Texas. This constitutes the first record of this species from Texas. Larvae and adults skeletonize large areas on palm leaves and are locally abundant enough to cause concern to homeowners.en_US
