It is proposed to maintain the 40-foot deep Houston Ship Channel navigation project, extending about 50 miles from Bolivar Roads at the lower end of Galveston Bay across Galveston Bay and through the lower reaches of the San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou to the Houston turning basin. The action will remove or disturb some motile and benthic organism, cover some low-grade vegetation, and will result in temporary increase in turbidity.en_US
