dc.description.abstract | Depuration of copper and zinc by the American Oyster (Crassostrea virginica) was studied in an aquarium with artificial seawater (24 to 28 ppt) at 22 C. During the 48-pay period, copper concentrations decreased from 110 to 4 ppm; zinc concentrations from 1700 to 135 ppm. Copper and zinc concentrations were affected by quantitative and qualitative changes in tissue fluids related to water salinity variations. | en_US |
