dc.description.abstract | Decision, rendered in 1965, of a 1962 lawsuit by Galveston East Beach, Inc. against the State of Texas, seeking to affirm the plaintiff's rights of ownership to a parcel of beachfront land. Plaintiff claimed that there was no public easement on its land. The court ruled that while the plaintiff did indeed own that land, it was still subject to a public easement. Consequently, the plaintiff was found not to have the right to barricade or otherwise close the disputed beach off from the public. | en_US |
