This report develops a process for the selection of areas appropriate for artificial marsh construction using dredged material. Volume I of the report, the biophysical and socioeconomic information needed to evaluate potential marsh creation sites is described. Specific kinds of problems that might arise and theoretical approaches to their solution are also discussed. Volume II descibes 50 prime candidate areas, 10 within each 5 major coastal geographical region. From this complilation, 10 optimum project areas, 2 in each region, were selected and described further using data gathered in the project areas and from relevant Engineer Districts.en_US
