Abstract

Rivers, streams and bayous of the Houston area are more than 4000 miles in length yet remain one of our least used or well known resources. I have paddled many of these waterways in my 20 years as a Houston resident and Houston Canoe Club member. The presentation will illustrate places to go and areas to paddle in the Galveston Bay area, both to the east and to the west of Galveston Bay. We won't be able to visit all the paddling sites, but I will distribute a listing that can get you started on many of our locally available streams, bayous, lakes and bays.
