Abstract

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed to acquire approximately 4,500 acres of land in Matagorda County, Texas for establishment of a national wildlife refuge. If acquired, the area, known as Big Boggy Marsh, would be managed primarily for wintering waterfowl. All or part of the area may be opened to the public for waterfowl hunting or other forms of wildlife-oriented recreation when and if acquisition is completed.
