Abstract
Presents a report by Houston bureau correspondent Richard Woodbury from Bailey's Prairie, Tex., where most of the ranching hamlet lies submerged under the waters of the Brazos River and adjoining creeks. Following nearly nine inches of rain, the Brazos, Trinity and Colorado rivers overflowed for miles, causing losses in the tens of millions of dollars, and leaving 15 dead and 25 counties designated as disaster areas.
