Item Improving Energy Efficiency - The Role of Public Policy(Columbia University, 1978) American AssemblyThe report which follows is the result of the deliberations of 65 Americans from the worlds of business, labor, education, journalism, government, the legal (bench and bar) and other professions. They came from 20 states and the District of Columbia for the Fifty-fifth American Assembly, a consideration of public policy for improving the energy efficiency of the United States. The Assembly was held at Arden House, Harriman, New York, November 2-5, 1978. For three days the participants discussed in depth the nature of the problem; energy prices and nonprice options in major sectors of the economy; and long-range issues.Item Nuclear Energy: Report of the Fiftieth American Assembly(Columbia University American Assembly, 1976) American AssemblyOn April 25, 1976, the participants in the Fiftieth American Assembly-at peak sixty-two Americans from eighteen states and the District of Columbia-met as a group to consider a draft of conclusions prepared after three days of discussing national and international policies and programs in nuclear energy. After deliberation and modification in that final plenary session the draft become the final report, which is presented on these pages.
