Its objectives were to determine the effects of heated effluent waters from the Cedar Bayou Generating Station (Houston Lighting & Power Company), Baytown, Texas, on selected estuarine fishes held in cages, and to evaluate the potential of these species for cage mariculture. Specific objectives were: utilization of cages as an experimental tool to study the effect of hydrological and biological variables on the survival, growth and food utilization of selected estuarine fishes and to determine optimum feeding rates for selected species. Species studied were: pinfish, spot, Atlantic croaker, black drum and striped mullet.survivalgrowthdissolved oxygen (DO)supersaturationmortalitytemperaturepinfishLagodon rhomboidesspotLeiostomus xanthurusAtlantic croakerMicropogon undulatusblack drumPogonias cromisstriped mulletMugil cephalusEffects of hydrological and biological variables on the survival, growth, and food utilization on estuarine fishes caged-cultured in a heated water systemDissertation
