The Nature Center was created in 1997 to develop community pride in our neighborhood that is undergoing revitalization and to increase educational opportunities for students and residents in regard to our unique bayou ecosystem (involving water resources) and environmental stewardship..... Over 60 community volunteers including docent teachers and master naturalists serve our Nature Center's 13 different programs and many daily activities. We are a living embodiment of Sir Aldo Leopold's vision in A Sand County Almanac, .when we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.water qualityhabitatecologywatershed managementsims bayouurban nature centercommunityeducationbayou ecosystemwater resourcesenvironmental stewardshipinvasive speciesexotic speciesA Community That Cares - Park Place Stewardship to the Sims Bayou WatershedBook
