Fredieu, B.J.2010-02-152010-02-151978http://hdl.handle.net/1969.3/2022692 p., ThesisThree species of penaeid shrimp were stocked in ponds as postlarvae and held for biological monitoring and experimental culture at an estuarine power plant near Baytown, Texas. White shrimp, Penaeus setiferus, were cultered from July 24 to November 23, 1976, in four 0.1 ha ponds designed to receive a constant supply of thermal effluent from Houston Lighting and Power Company's Cedar Bayou Electric Power Station. White shrimp in two ponds received supplemental food. Brown shrimp, Penaeus aztecus, and pink shrimp, Penaeus duorarum, were cultured from April 20 to July 31, 1977, in four of these ponds. Brown and pink shrimp in all four ponds received supplemental food. Pond hydrological conditions (temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and pH) were measured at least 6 days a week.penaeid shrimpPenaeus setiferusPenaeus aztecusPenaeus duorarumshrimp culturepond culturewhite shrimpbrown shrimppink shrimpheavy metalsCulture of penaeid shrimp in brackish water ponds receiving thermal effluents.Book
