An 18-month planning program involving public workshops and community meetings, the Master Plan seeks to restore the Buffalo Bayou to an ecologically functional system as it meanders through central Houston. Key programmatic elements of the Plan, including improved water quality, increased wildlife habitat, and implementation of sustainable, low-impact development techniques will improve the health and long-term environmental viability of the Greater Galveston Bay Eco-region. Key program initiatives outlined within the Master Plan will be presented and discussed.
