In this study, metal concentrations in sediments, roots and leaves were found to decrease exponentially with distance from the inflow point. In addition, concentrations were found to be greater in the finer secondary roots as compared to the coarser primary roots. Therefore, sampling of wetlands must allow for these factors when assessing a wetland's pollution status.aquatic plantswetlandsestuariespoint source pollutioncopperleadsea grasspollutionSpatial variation of copper and lead concentrations of water hyacinth plants in a wetland receiving urban run-offArticle
