This site, at the gulfward end of the MRGO has been used for disposal of dredged material by the Corps of Engineers (COE) since 1958. It received interim designation by EPA in 1977. Designation of the MRGO ODMDS would provide an environmentally acceptable site for figure disposal of dredged material that is in compliance with the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA) of 1972ALTERNATIVES - Alternatives considered in this EIS include: 1.
