The first was a study of growth rates, seasonal abundance, distribution, spawning habits, food preferences and existing fishery of the red snapper (Lutjanus campechanus). The second study was to define the inshore midwater and surface water school fish in order to determine species present, seasonal populations, and fishing methods.
