First, the physical properties of hurricanes are briefly described with examples, and the various interactions that occur when a hurricane crosses a shoreline are outlined. A hypothetical worst case is postulated for comparison with actual hurricane records. Second, all hurricanes on record that have affected Chambers County in any significant way are listed with available pertinent data. This set of specific cases provides a sample of all possible hurricane interactions from which we can formulate rough probabilistic estimates of interaction characteristics (tide, winds, precipitation, damage, etc.).meteorologyhurricanesweatherHurricane incidence in Chambers County, Texas.Chapter
