Similiar damage results when muskrats are allowed to overpopulate their habitat. This phenomenon occurs from the marshes of Louisiana to Galveston Bay, Texas. Both types of damage benefit certain forms of wildlife, but goose eatouts have greater wildlife value and produce fewer harmful results.vertebrate zoologymammalogyaquatic birdssalt marshesfeeding behaviormuskratsManagement significance of damage by geese and muskrats to Gulf coast marshes.Article
