This chamber provides individual postlarvae with equal exposure to two parallel olfactant streams separated by a steep concentration gradient. Galveston Bay is a highly industrialized estuary which recieves over half of Texas' permitted wastewater discharges. Acutely toxic pollutant effects are usually confined to the immediate vicinity of discharge points and seldom persist over widespread areas.
