This environmental impact statement covers both sales due to the geographic and chronological proximity of the sales to each other. An index has been provided as an attachment to this DEIS and lists information relative to specific data and impacts. One visual and a special overlay were prepared for this statement with references made to the visuals of Sales A62/62 FEIS (see Appendix D).... The proposed sales of oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico consist of 1,979,794 acres in 385 tracts offshore the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Of these tracts, 209 tracts comprise Sale 66 and 176 tracts comprise Sale A66. The tracts vary from 3-116 nautical miles from shore in water from 2-500 m deep (see appendix A and figure S-1). ....Basic assumptions for impact estimates and analysis of potential environmental consequences are presented in Section IV....offshore oil industryoffshore gas industryoilgasleasesoffshore oil well drillinggas well drillingenvironmental aspectsoil and gas leasescontinental shelfOCS oil and gas proposed 1981 sales A66 and 66: environmental impact statementBook
