The commercial value of angler-landed fish is subtracted from trip expenditures to estimate the direct market value of the angling experience. This value was $29.7 million in 1976, and the statewide employment impact was 3,193 person-years. This method can be used for comparing relative economic values of sportfishing with commercial fishing.red drumSciaenops ocellataeconomic analysissport fishingsport fishing statisticscommercial speciesfisheriesEstimating the direct market economic impact of sport angling for red drum in Texas.Article
