Seasonal and geographical harvest estimates were derived from the analysis of 937 responses, representing 9.3% of the total number of licensed shrimp fishermen. Comparison of the sport and commercial shrimp harvest indicated that approximately 1.1% (900,823 lb) of the total Texas shrimp harvest was taken by sport fishermen; sport fishermen took about 5.7% (845,747 lb) of the shrimp harvested from Texas' bays and approximately 0.5% (55,077 lb) of the shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico adjacent to Texas.shrimpsurveysfisheriesHarvest of shrimp by Texas sport fishermen, 1973Chapter
