Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the species distribution, and seasonal occurrence and abundance of the shrimps, crabs, and fishes in the cooling lake of the Cedar Bayou Electric Power Station from 11 August 1972 to 2 August 1973 and to compare these data with those taken by Schmidt (1972), Johnson (1973), and Strawn et. al. (1971, 1972a, 1972b, 1973a, 1973b, 1974) from the Tabbs Bay and Cedar Bayou collecting stations located in the intake canal system. This study provides information indicative of the effects of thermal effluent on shrimps, crabs, and fishes in a closed semi-estuarine system.
