Trinity River Basin Water Quality Management Plan: Automated Data Storage and Retrieval Management System

The purpose of this report is to present the logic of the basinwide water quality management information system created for the Trinity River Basin. The information system presented is primarily a modification of the EPA STORET system (NTIS-PB-214 580). Whereas EPA STORET primarily assigns numbers to streams and discrete points upon each stream, the information system presented in this report assigns numbers not only to streams and points but to small planning subwatersheds as well. The information system presented can be utilized not only for storage and retrieval of information, but can also be utilized to mathematically simulate the environmental effects and associated costs of alternative water quality management plans.
