Abstract
Acute toxicity studies on two early life stages of Fundulus similis indicated that two-week post hatch larvae are more sensitive to cadmium exposure than 5-6 day embryos by a factor of 1.6 to 11.2 depending on the salinity/temperature combination. Temperature proved to have a significant affect on acute cadmium toxicity, with higher temperatures producing increased mortality. The effect of salinity on acute cadmium toxicity was not significant, however there was a distinct trend toward increased survival at higher salinities.
