dc.description.abstractWe assessed an oyster reef as nursery habitat for juveniles of economically important penaeid shrimps, blue crab, stone crab and game fishes. This is the first investigation to compare densities of fauna on an oyster reef with those in salt marsh and bare mud habitats. The study used drop trap sampling methodology in West Bay, Texas, during December of 1988 and July of 1989.en_US
