Abstract
The Mississippi Marine Resources Council is the State agency charged by its enabling legislation in 1970 to develop and implement a coastal zone management plan directed toward the rational development of the coastal resources of the State. The mission of the Council is to help develop these resources for the maximum social and economic benfit, while at the same time, preserving the natural beauty of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and conserving those resources which are endangered or are in limited supply.
