Abstract
This article describes a study which assesses the effects of environmental factors on the use of remote sensing for detecting sea grass location and area extent over time. These environmental factors include low and high tide, seasonally low and high standing crop and insolation, and wind direction and velocity. Aerial photographs are used as reference data for three sites within a North Carolina coastal lagoon.
